It takes its name from the 8 foundations that must be built to win the game, as spiders normally have 8 legs themselves. SpiderĪlthough Klondike is the most popular version in general, Spider Solitaire takes the top spot within the 2-deck types of Solitaire games. These can be called into play to help players build their sequences. The remaining cards that were not dealt into the piles are arranged in a Stock pile. Only Kings can be moved into empty spaces on the tableau. Sequences on the tableau are built in descending order (from King to Ace) and with alternating colors. To access and reveal the bottom cards, the players have to build sequences and move them within the piles. All the cards are facing down, except for the upper one in each pile. The cards are dealt into 7 piles on the tableau (the game area). The goal is to arrange them by suit, starting with the Ace and ending with the King, on empty areas called the foundations. Its massive popularity can be traced back to its inclusion in Microsoft’s Windows 3.0 in 1990. Its origins are uncertain, but it is likely to have first appeared during the gold rush, in the 19th century, in the region of Klondike in Canada, from where it derives its name. ![]() So much so, that when used alone the term “Solitaire” usually refers to this game. Klondike is the most popular version of Solitaire. Nevertheless, their tiny differences make them unique and challenging on their own accord. The most popular types of Solitaire games share many similarities, especially because they are all designed to be played by only one player (thus the term Solitaire). However, several other versions are now competing for that top spot. After all, it was the first to trigger the massive popularity of this type of card games after its inclusion in Microsoft’s software in the early 90s. Klondike is still the most popular version of the game. In reality, there are several types of Solitaire games. When planning how much and how often to feed your fish, consider their population size. Determine which population of fish you want to grow to decide which type of fish food to use. When choosing food pellets for your pond feeder, keep in mind the species of fish that live in your pond. ![]() By increasing the population of forage fish at the bottom of the food chain, your more desirable sport fish will also grow larger and become more populous. Some types of larger fish, such as trout and Channel Catfish will also eat the pellet food. Pond feeders supply food for forage fish that become prey for larger fish. Texas Hunter's fish feeder's premium digital timer controls both the intervals of feeding times as well as their duration. In directional fish feeders, the food is dispensed over a large area of the pond's surface. Texas Hunter fish feeders for ponds can also be adjusted to release food for a specific duration to supply just the right amount of food to the lake. Fish will get used to their feeding schedule, and anglers get to enjoy great fishing experiences and improved catch rates for trophy bass, bluegill and other sportfish. This scheduled feeding is essential because it encourages fish to congregate in the same part of the pond on a regular, daily schedule. The number of times food is distributed daily can be adjusted depending on the size of your pond and how many fish you have. By releasing the food with a precise air blower, the food is distributed evenly across the lake's surface.įood distribution is regulated by the feeder's precise digital timer which synchronizes the two motors in the feeder to turn the feed flow on and off at the scheduled times. ![]() This metered flow of feed exits the pond feeder through the centrifugal air blower system that delivers the fish feed into the lake. The pond fish feeders at Texas Hunter Products use a dual motor system that provides a consistent volume of fish feed through a built-in funnel system. The blower allows fish food to be distributed evenly over a larger surface area of water which provides opportunities to feed more fish in the pond or lake. Texas Hunter Fish feeders feature a powerful centrifugal blower system that dispenses the fish feed over the surface of the pond or lake. Pond feeders are designed to distribute a predetermined amount of fish food into the pond at regular intervals throughout the day. Feeding your fish can also allow you to catch larger sport fish from your pond and enjoy full and reliable fishing holes. Fish feeders can help produce a well-balanced ecosystem and a healthy fish community. When a lake has plenty of forage fish, on the other hand, large fish populations will grow as well. If the population of forage fish is lacking, the larger fish - including trout, bass and catfish - will not have enough food to grow and reproduce. Forage fish will eat the feed pellets, allowing them to grow larger and reproduce more quickly. Increased nutrients also support the growth of water bugs that smaller fish eat. This shortage of nutrients affects the entire food chain and hinders the growth of larger fish at the top of the food chain.įeeding programs can improve this system by supplying more nutrients to the lake and feeding the forage fish - such as bluegills, minnows, shiners, shad and small catfish - that serve as prey for the larger sport fish. However, the reality is that many pond and lake ecosystems are lacking in plankton, algae and grasses that make up the bottom of the food chain. Many people believe that in a well-maintained lake, fish should be able to find their own food to survive. Fish feeders can draw more fish to your favorite fishing hole so you will want to spend the whole year fishing. When you take your kids and grandchildren down to the lake or pond, they will enjoy catching more fish or simply watching them feed. Pond fish feeders supply a reliable food source and added nutrients to help you grow bigger fish. If you are a pond or lake owner looking to grow your sport fish population and improve the health of your pond, fish feeders can be the solution you need. ![]() 6/23/2023 0 Comments Color moods test![]() In addition we have found that up to 79% of people with an affective disorder equate their mood with a color compared to only 39% of healthy controls. Similarly, we have shown, using the MCW, that negative colors are more likely to be chosen by depressed subjects and that in most cases the higher the depression score the more likely they are to choose such a color. It has also been shown that depressed subjects are more likely to choose brown and black to describe their current mood whereas non-depressed individuals are more likely to choose colors which reflect their color preference. ĭata on color perception and mood suggests that black, brown and grey are consistently associated with negative emotions and it has been shown that patients suffering from depression appear to have impaired color sensitivity and view life monochromatically. It was concluded that for quantitative research on color it may be more useful to relate findings to whether color choice is collectively positive or negative rather than concentrating on a particular color. This was because different shades of the same color could have completely different connotations, for instance, pale blue was strongly positive whereas dark blue was negative. The development and validation of the MCW is described elsewhere and using this instrument it emerged that the positive, neutral and negative attributions of color appeared to be much more meaningful in relation to mood than an individual color itself. ![]() In the absence of a simple way of presenting a series of colors to a patient for choice it was necessary to create a suitable instrument (Figure 1) which we called the Manchester Color Wheel (MCW). This led us to speculate that how a patient relates their illness and their mood to color might also help to predict outcome to treatment and it was the purpose of this study to test this hypothesis. We have previously shown that patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are more likely to respond to hypnotherapy (HT) treatment if they have an image of their illness and especially if that image is in color. ConclusionĪ positive mood color, especially when combined with HAD anxiety and a high TAS score, predict a good response to hypnotherapy. Twice as many responders (63, 77.8%) had a positive mood color or were anxious or had a high TAS score compared with 32 (42.7%) without these factors (p < 0.001). In addition, these factors could be combined to give an even stronger prediction of outcome. Furthermore, a high TAS score and the presence of HAD anxiety also had good predictive value (odds ratio: 4.024 p = 0.092, 3.917 p < 0.001 respectively) with these markers and a positive mood color being independent of each other. Resultsįor patients with a positive mood color the odds of responding to hypnotherapy were nine times higher than that of those choosing either a neutral or negative color or no color at all (odds ratio: 8.889 p = 0.042). Following hypnotherapy all these measures were repeated with the exception of the TAS. Before treatment, each patient was asked to relate their mood to a color on the MCW as well as completing the IBS Symptom Severity Score, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HAD) Scale, the Non-colonic Symptom Scale, the Quality of Life Scale and the Tellegen Absorption Scale (TAS) which is a measure of hypnotisability. ![]() Methodsġ56 consecutive IBS patients (aged 14-74, mean 42.0 years, 127 (81%) females, 29 (19%) males) were studied. Using this instrument we have been able to classify colors into positive, neutral and negative shades and this study aimed to assess their predictive role in hypnotherapy. In order to undertake this study we have previously developed and validated a method of presenting colors to individuals for research purposes called the Manchester Color Wheel (MCW). The use of imagery and color form an integral part of the hypnotherapeutic process and we have hypothesised that investigating color and how it relates to mood might help to predict response to treatment. However, it is time consuming as well as expensive to provide and therefore a way of predicting outcome would be extremely useful. ![]() Approximately two thirds of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) respond well to hypnotherapy. ![]() 6/23/2023 0 Comments Meaning of freight![]() ![]() Shipping’s capacity to transfer goods and materials from where they are produced to where they will be ultimately consumed underpins modern life.” This represents an impressive 1.5 tons per person based on the current global population. “Some 11 billion tons of goods are transported by ship each year. ![]() If you just look at shipping, i.e., goods and livestock transported by ship, the global market was worth $14 trillion in 2019.Īccording to the International Chamber of Shipping: In the UK, for example, I can buy strawberries in the winter from South Africa or Israel, while a consumer can walk into a Walmart store in Mexico City and buy Canadian blackberries. However, there is a lot of overlap today and you might see and hear the two terms – cargo and freight – used interchangeably in virtually all situations. Ships and planes have generally been called cargo planes or cargo ships. Historically, freight has referred to transportation by land, unlike cargo which is for sea or air transportation. Once freight arrives on land, it is transported to its destination by drayage carriers. That is why the terms freight train or freight truck are much more common than cargo trucks or trains. However, unlike freight, we cannot use cargo as a verb.
