![]() ![]() I am one of the two admins on the server and have been beating my head against this issue for a few days now. However, I am now able to get in to the game and play, and everything seems to be working. This is a complicated issue, and is spread over three reports, to keep it one issue per report. The admin with physical access to the server has been clearing my save data from the server for me as well. If you were to read through the other reports in this three-issue series, mentioned above, you would see those things in my bug (and possible fix) reports. ![]() To check that it really worked, try to start a new local SP game, you should be asked to select a new player profile. the suggestion that is on top of every forum page in blue.Ġ) (If you want to keep your old worlds and savegames from a19, the ones you probably never will visit again □, backup them now to a location far far away)ġ) Start the game launcher from steam (you normally should be asked whether you want to start the game or the launcher) What I miss seeing is any mention of having cleared previous data like saves and settings, i.e. I got into the game, and I could pick things up! But only for a couple minutes. So I tried reducing my video settings and turning V-Sync off. I'll try reducing my video settings, but I've got good hardware. My ping at the time was not great, but not all that bad either at 175ms. I just got in momentarily again, and my "E" key was non-functional. All the others are in the new game, and I can't join. Anyway hope you get things sorted out, its really fristrating huh? One final mention, is that after doing a full reinstall, start a local game first, before joining multiplayer. Shortly after I couldn't launch game.was hanging on "creating player" again. This let me get back in (as a beginning character), but in a couple of days I was getting red code error spam, and my character was dropping everything on death (server has that disabled). So my friend deleted my player files on the server. After wiping everything related to 7d2d locally and reinstalling several times, I still got the error. Re: A20, my player files keep getting corrupted server-side for some reason. I also set my video settings to lowest and turned v-sync off. ![]() It seems to have helped, though I'm still testing. I've since uninstalled AVG antivirus and disabled windows antivirus, thinking that some real-time file scanning was happening. We noticed that the " falling through the map" and "can't use "E" " errors correlated with very high ping spikes on my end (20K plus), which we originally thought was caused by my distance to the server. ![]() Same issue here on my friend's vanilla 7d2d server and A20 experimental server. I'm also an admin on the server, but in the brief time I was in-game the terminal behind F1 didn't recognize me it didn't respond to dm or cm. We might try using the PREGEN8K world as there might be problems with 10K ones, but that doesn't address the other issues. When I tried to reconnect to the server, I got stuck again at "Starting game." and haven't gotten in again since. I could walk around, punch grass to get fibers and craft and place the bedroll, but couldn't pick up a small stone or examine trash.Īs I walked around I came to a place where the detail hadn't drawn - smooth mottled green with no grass, no buildings - and as I walked onto it I fell through the earth and just kept falling. I got into the game and could do things, but no "E" key. I managed to get into the PREGEN10K world on our server. (see A20 multiplayer launch stuck on "Starting game.") and then getting past being stuck on "Starting game." (see A20 multiplayer launch stuck on "Creating player.") I've done a full uninstall/download/reinstall of A20.Īfter getting past being stuck on "Creating player." (I kept a backup of my A19 files.) One of our group maintains the 7d2d (and Valheim) server and it has also been upgraded to A20. I upgraded my Steam copy of 7d2d from A19 to A20. I'm having some technical issues with connecting to an Alpha 20 multiplayer game server and I wanted to give a quick rundown of my successes and failures in case anyone has encountered similar things or has any thoughts to offer. ![]()
